Scharnstein is located in the heart of the Almtal and offers numerous sights. The castle ruins, Scharnstein Castle with the criminal museum or the Geierhammer sense wrought museum are only a part of the cultural offer. Camping Schatzlmühle is an ideal starting point for excursions to romantic, historical cities (Bad Ischl, Gmunden, Salzburg, Schärding, Steyr, Wels), caves, lakes and numerous museums in the region.
